I am a teacher and my surgeon said to wait until summer. I am from Upstate NY originally (Utica to be exact) I now live in St. Augustine FL. I go to Disney a lot and in fact tonight am going to Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights. We are getting a wheel chair because my ankle is so bad right now I would never make it around the park.
Again, thank for your blog! It has given me a ton of insight and so much to think about.
I hope you are kicking butt with running and enjoying trips to Disney!Jillbushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10241000477235320595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2566606416573457215.post-64051683345360714162019-08-13T22:31:23.721-04:002019-08-13T22:31:23.721-04:00After reading Unknowns comment on Sept 1 2018, Now... It definitely takes some getting used to. It feels like it weighs a ton and I hate it. I fractured my left 5th metatarsal and the throbbing was terrible up until a couple of days ago. I can't use crutches and have a walker which I don't like either. Part of my problem is my age of 74. I think if I were younger, I might be able to handle crutches. I'm using tramadol for pain but it upsets my stomach so I have a lot of nausea. Sleeping is next to impossible for me with the boot on. My friend has been helping me with the shower- we use a plastic bag around the foot. We have rented a wheel chair for when I have to leave the house. I was able to sprint for the first time in a long time a couple weeks ago with no setbacks. My ankle can still fatigue easily and I have post-surgical pain in the tendon which moves my foot out. These are getting better as time goes on so I'm hopeful it will continue to improve over the next couple months.

I'm still Richie brace free on my surgically repaired foot and able to function in a normal shoe. My other foot (right), however, has continued to get worse. I have some knee discomfort on that side as well now which I never had before favoring it so greatly over the past 9 months. Most days, my right foot limits me more than my left repaired foot, and that is even with the custom molded Richie brace on the right foot.

I'm scheduled to have the All American on my right foot in early February, a little less than year after the left. We are dreading the early months following the procedures, but I do think its for the best. Can I fast forward a year??

Interestingly, I have migraine tension headaches as well. That'll be something to tackle after this next surgery I suppose.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05987558925664199542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2566606416573457215.post-44452861486790328782016-11-03T14:40:38.928-04:002016-11-03T14:40:38.928-04:00Glad to hear they think it is something easily fix...Glad to hear they think it is something easily fixed!Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09417097530254920421noreply@blogger.com
